American Citizen Services (ACS) Appointments
Effective August 17, 2009, an appointment is required for all passport, consular report of birth abroad (CRBA), notarial and other services. Before making an appointment, please follow completely these instructions:
Applicants who come to the Consulate without the required documents or without an appointment will be turned away.
Certain passport renewal applicants can simply and directly renew by mail to the U.S.
Helpful hints for passport or CRBA appointment holders:
- Be sure to complete all forms, and bring all required original supporting civil documents, evidence and required fees.
- Make an extra copy to leave with us or be prepared to pay USD 1 for each photocopy.
- Bring a prepaid Canada Post Xpresspost envelope to return your completed passport or CRBA. Put your information in both the "To" and "From" sections.
- Once you are in the on-line appointment system:
- Click on the first or second entry on the appointment page for passports, as desired
- Click on the third entry on the appointment page for CRBAs: "report the birth abroad"
- Click on the fourth entry on the appointment page for notarial or other services
- Upon arrival in ACS, on the third floor, give your appointment confirmation to the cashier, who will give you a ticket number or direct you to the designated customer service window.
- If you come unprepared your appointment will be cancelled.
If you have followed all instructions you may now book an appointment for passport, CRBA, notarial or other services.
