Economic and Political Section

We offer a full-time unpaid internship position for a minimum of 10 weeks to American citizens and Canadian citizen students. The internship is an excellent opportunity for students interested in International Relations, International Business, Finance, Communications, Political Science, Public Administration, or other related disciplines to gain work experience. The Political/Economic Intern conducts research and draft reports on issues of interest to the U.S. government in Ontario such as: telecommunications; securities market; infrastructure; commercialization of public sector service providers; prospects for U.S. involvement in the provision of health services; exploration, exploitation, and financing in the mining industry; e-commerce; growth in high-tech industries; national treatment issues for American business, especially in the financial and telecommunications industries; labor/management relations; and environmental policies. American citizen students must apply for internships at the Consulate through the U.S. Department of State Careers website.
